We don’t have ‘Partners’ and are owned by our clients so we truly are wholly unique. Pathfinder Legal Services began trading as a private law firm in April 2015 and was known as LGSS Law Ltd. The firm sprung from the shared working arrangement between Cambridgeshire County Council and Northamptonshire County Council. In April 2016, Central Bedfordshire Council joined as the third shareholder, cementing the foundations of the firm that we see today. In April 2021, following a local government reorganisation in Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire County Council was abolished and the two new authorities, North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council was created. The two new authorities each took over as shareholders of the firm and Pathfinder Legal Services Limited was created. Currently owned by Cambridgeshire County Council and Central Bedfordshire Council, a significant proportion of our work remains within the local authority sector. However, over the years our client base has grown and widened to include more than one hundred organisations across the public and not-for-profit sectors including Local Authorities, Children’s Trusts, Integrated Care Boards, Foundation Trusts, Charities and Police and Fire Services.
