Rankiteo Explanation :
Attack with significant impact with internal employee data leaks

Description: The Italian copyright collection agency SIAE was the victim of a cyberattack with a Bitcoin ransom demand. The hacking attack, according to the media, resulted in a massive data breach. The 28,000 stolen documents could be sold by hackers on dark websites. More than 60GB of sensitive data, including Identification cards, licenses, addresses, contracts, and IBAN (International Bank Account Number) were exposed by the monopolist intermediary between the producers of musical tracks and consumers. The CEO of SIAE, Gaetano Blandini, claims that the cybercriminals requested a โ‚ฌ3 million Bitcoin ransom.
